| This magnesium axial flow housing is an airborne component used on commercial aircraft. Difficult machining features include two bore diameters which are held +/- .001" and concentric .001", normalities among features as tight as .0005", and drilled and reamed holes which pierce the vane sections through to the central bore cavity where sensors and electrical conductors are installed in the final assembly. Polynetics machines the component from a raw casting, and all work is done in house. | ![]() |
![]() | Butterfly valve housing used for cabin pressurization, is machined from an aluminum casting and features an extremely thin wall section, close bore size, cylindricity of .002", and perpendicularity to the outer mounting pad surfaces of .002". A variety of special holding fixtures were constructed to minimize distortion during fourth axis milling operations and to insure perfect alignment of opposing bored holes. |
| Our Kitamura horizontal mill features a 10,000 rpm spindle, fully integrated 4th axis (rotary table), twin automatic pallet station, and a 100 position automatic tool carousel. Here, an aircraft casting is receiving final milling features. Machined parts as large as 16 inches can be accommodated, and special fixturing allows multiple small parts to be processed quickly and efficiently. | ![]() |

Both of our machining centers are palletized for maximum utilization of spindle time. Jig bored position pallets speed setups, and insure consistency for repeat jobs. Our Kitamuras were selected for their unparalleled performance record and consistent repeatability. We can rely on our Kitamuras so you can rely on us. |
| Our two turning centers have 8 inch chucks, 5C and 16C collet noses to handle a variety of material shapes and sizes. Here, a large aluminum casting is being turned, face grooved, and bored. At 12 inches in diameter, our geared spindle Nakamura Slant 1 lathe powers through deep cuts and tough materials. This part will later receive milling operations in one of our CNC milling machines. | ![]() |
![]() | Our newest turning center, a Nakamura TMC 20 features 4500 rpm, 1100 inch per minute rapids, and a programmable parts catcher for repetitive bar/chucker type work. The high speed and excellent repeatability of our TMC 20 II rival screw machines for productivity. Small, high quantity production runs are ideally suited for this machine. |
| Polynetics machines a variety of aircraft parts including housings, fans, shafts, valve bodies, and similar small parts. Other parts from the commercial sector include engine parts, pump parts, pulleys, flywheels, castings and bar work. From raw casting through final machining, our broad range of equipment allows us the flexibility to fill your needs quickly and efficiently . | ![]() |
